The Kafue National Park is Zambias largest and one of Africas biggest wilderness areas. Central to the park and hunting concessions, is the Kafue River and its tributaries, a large clear body of water. Most of the region is covered in Miombo forest, open grass plains which are ideal for hunting. Lion and Leopard are excellent in certain concessions. Lion  have large manes, and Leopard are big in body. The Kafue concessions have the best Sable in Africa.

Other species include Defassa Waterbuck, Lichtenstein’s Hartebeest, Livingstone’s Eland, Chobe Bushbuck, Impala, Puku, Kudu, Southern Roan, Bush Duiker, Oribi, Common Reedbuck, Blue Wildebeeste and Sitatunga.
